Leaving Europe after a year was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Even months later, I have trouble being anything less than emotional about leaving behind the friends, the memories, the life I had there. I will go back; that’s for sure. But until then, thank goodness we never recover from good memories.

Filed under Creative Writing in May 2010.A short story; my homage to Brian Aldiss for inspiring the short story that drives the plot of Spielberg’s (Kubrick’s?) A.I. In retrospect, I suppose it does start off a bit on the emo side; hopefully that doesn’t detract from the plot too much. Lots of references in there too!
